“To have a passion that brings you into service to your community as far as your spiritual arms can reach.” This love started to grow in me when I met a group of people called Village of Hope (VOH). My itch to serve folks was finally being met! As a child, I quieted my passions by helping out in the Red Cross and various other organizations. However, VOH woke me up and I was finally able to touch those needing help. The Freedom Church provided me support when I wanted to hit the streets! I loved doing outreach work. I continued to serve in my career, I am working with those people needing my services, while I served in Ministry helping those not connected to an organization. Ultimately, trauma hit home, and I truly got a call to serve. I lost my son. My daughters decided we would come together and honor their brother, Steven Dedeaux Jr. I embraced the work that my son completed as a Road Captain and started the non-profit, Road Captain Ministries. I am pouring all my energies into RCM. RCM provides food to the hungry, support and resources to those needing housing, and counseling for those needing an ear to listen.
